A Pool for the Community
3 December, 2010 at 5:00 pm | Posted in swimming | Comments OffThe Community Pool at Waltham Forest College is thriving once again after being rescued, from a string of closure threats, by dedicated users and campaigners with the unwaivering support of Waltham Forest College. Many groups now use the pool – East London Triathletes hold training sessions and children and adults learn to swim with the Tritons Swim School. Already swimming lengths? Then you can join our group, Friends of the Pool (FOTP). From January, signing up for a term allows you to choose up to 10 times a week to enjoy this vintage 30m pool.
What a wonderful weld!
4 March, 2010 at 7:37 am | Posted in swimming | 1 CommentFor those of you following the exciting but lengthy prelude to re-opening the pool, you will be delighted to know that the welding we needed to do on the leaking pool filter has been successfully carried out. The costs were shared by Tritons, Friends of the Pool and the new operators, Active Leisure Management Ltd (ALM). Thanks to everyone and to the College for being helpful as always. So sign up to our RSS feed, follow us on Twitter or just look in on the website where news will be posted as soon as we have something definite to tell you. So, as the late Louis Armstrong didn’t say, Oh, What a wonderful Weld!
